And whoever is averse to the Remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint a devil upon him, who stays with him. 36 and they bar them from the way, and they think they are guided, 37 But when he comes to Us, he will say (to his satan): “Would that there had been between me and you the distance as between the East and the West. How evil a companion you were!” 38 (It will be said to them) “And you will not benefit from them this day, whereas you are unjust – for you are all partners in the punishment.” 39 What! can you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear error? 40 And if We take thee away, We surely shall take vengeance on them, 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 So hold you (O Muhammad SAW) fast to that which is inspired in you. Verily, you are on a Straight Path. 43 And verily, this (the Quran) is indeed a Reminder for you (O Muhammad SAW) and your people (Quraish people, or your followers), and you will be questioned (about it). 44 And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped? 45
