And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade; 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 When he returns to us, he will say (to satan), "Would that there had been as long a distance between me and you as that between the East and West. What a terrible companion you have been". 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 Can you (O Muhammad SAW) make the deaf to hear, or can you guide the blind or him who is in manifest error? 40 We shall revenge them either after your death 41 Or show you some of what We have promised them. They are certainly well within Our power. 42 Therefore hold fast to that which has been revealed to you; surely you are on the right path. 43 And lo! it is in truth a Reminder for thee and for thy folk; and ye will be questioned. 44 Ask those of Our Messengers We sent before thee: Have We appointed, apart from the All-merciful, gods to be served? 45
