We sent Moses to the Pharaoh and his nobles with Our miracles and he said, "I am the Messenger of the Lord of the Universe". 46 But when he came to them with Our signs, lo! they laughed at them. 47 And not a sign We showed them, but it was greater than its sister sign; and We seized them with chastisement, that haply they should return. 48 And they said, "O thou sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance." 49 But when We removed the Penalty from them, behold, they broke their word. 50 And Pharaoh proclaimed among his people: 'O my people, do I not possess the kingdom of Egypt, and these rivers flowing beneath me? What, do you not see? 51 Or am I [not] better than this one who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear? 52 Why, then, have armlets of gold not been set upon him, or angels sent along with him? 53 Thus did he make fools of his people, and they obeyed him: truly were they a people rebellious (against Allah). 54 So, when they angered Us, We punished them and drowned them every one. 55 We made them become of the people of the past and an example for the coming generations. 56

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
