۞ When the example of Mary's son is quoted before them, your people cry out at it, 57 and say: "Which is better - our deities or he?" [But] it is only in the spirit of dispute that they put this comparison before thee: yea, they are contentious folk! 58 but he was only a servant We favoured and made an example for the Children of Israel: 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 He is a sign of the Hour. Have no doubt about it. But follow me. This is a straight path; 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 When Jesus came with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), he said: I have come unto you with wisdom, and to make plain some of that concerning which ye differ. So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 63 God is your Lord and my Lord, so worship Him. This is the right path". 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 Are they waiting (for any thing) but the Hour (of Doom) which would descend upon them suddenly, and catch them unawares? 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
