۞ When [Jesus] the son of Mary is held up as an example, your people raise an outcry on this, 57 And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. 58 He is only a servant We blessed, and We made him to be an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And had We so willed, [O you who worship angels,] We could indeed have made you into angels succeeding one another on earth! 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 “Allah is indeed my Lord, and yours – therefore worship Him; this is the Straight Path.” 64 Then the groups differed amongst themselves; therefore ruin is for the unjust by the punishment of an agonising day. 65 Do they wait for aught but the hour, that it should come! upon them all of a sudden while they do not perceive? 66 Close friends will turn into enemies of one another on that Day, except the pious. 67
