۞ And when the example of the son of Maryam is given, your people laugh at it! 57 "Are our gods any better than Jesus (for according to Muhammad), if our gods go to hell so too will Jesus. What they say is only a false argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people. 58 Jesus was a servant of Ours to whom We had granted favors and whom We made as an example for the Israelites. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 And verily he is a sign of the Hour wherefore dubitate not thereof, and follow Me: this is the straight path. 61 and do not let satan prevent you, for he is your clear enemy. 62 NOW WHEN Jesus came [to his people] with all evidence of the truth, he said: "I have now come unto you with wisdom, and to make clear unto you some of that on which you are at variance: hence, be conscious of God, and pay heed unto me. 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path." 64 But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Are they looking for aught but the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they are not aware? 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
