۞ And when the example of the son of Maryam is given, your people laugh at it! 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. 59 And if We willed, We could have established angels on the earth instead of you. 60 And indeed Eisa is a sign* of the Last Day, therefore do not ever doubt in the Last Day, and obey Me**; this is the Straight Path. (* The advent of Prophet Eisa to earth for the second time. ** By obeying the Noble Messenger.) 61 Let not Satan bar you; he is for you a manifest foe. 62 When Jesus came with clear signs, he said, "Now I have come to you with wisdom, in order to make clear to you some of the things about which you dispute: therefore fear God and obey me. 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore worship Him. That is the Straight Path' 64 Yet the parties differed among themselves. So woe to those who did evil among the punishment of a Painful Day. 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 Friends on that day shall be foes to one another, but the god-fearing. 67
