۞ When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it 57 And they say: Are our gods better, or is he? They do not set it forth to you save by way of disputation; nay, they are a contentious people. 58 He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 Had We willed, We would have appointed angels among you to be successors in the earth. 60 And he ['Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)] shall be a known sign for (the coming of) the Hour (Day of Resurrection) [i.e. 'Iesa's (Jesus) descent on the earth]. Therefore have no doubt concerning it (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). And follow Me (Allah) (i.e. be obedient to Allah and do what He orders you to do, O mankind)! This is the Straight Path (of Islamic Monotheism, leading to Allah and to His Paradise). 61 And let not the Satan hinder you; verily he is unto you an enemy manifest. 62 And when Eisa came to them with clear signs, he said, “I have come to you with wisdom, and to explain to you some of the matters regarding which you dispute; therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path." 64 But the factions among them differed. Then woe unto those who do wrong from the doom of a painful day. 65 What are they waiting for – except the Last Day, that it may suddenly come upon them while they are unaware? 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
