۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 And say: "Are our deities better or he?" They say this only for disputing. Surely they are a contentious people. 58 (Jesus) was only a creature whom We favoured and made an example for the children of Israel. 59 Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth. 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 And let not the Shaitan prevent you; surely he is your open enemy. 62 And when Isa came with clear arguments he said: I have come to you indeed with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you part of what you differ in; so be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me: 63 “Allah is indeed my Lord, and yours therefore worship Him; this is the Straight Path.” 64 Then the sects differed among themselves. Woe then unto those who do Wrong because of the torment of an afflictive Day. 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 Friends on that day will be foes, one to another,- except the Righteous. 67
