۞ When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it 57 saying, "Are our gods better or him?" -- they cite him only to challenge you: they are a contentious people -- 58 He (Prophet Jesus) was only a worshiper whom We favored and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 It is the knowledge of the Hour. Have no doubt concerning it, and follow me. This is a Straight Path, 61 And let not the Shaitan prevent you; surely he is your open enemy. 62 When Jesus came with clear signs, he said, "Now I have come to you with wisdom, in order to make clear to you some of the things about which you dispute: therefore fear God and obey me. 63 Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path: 64 But the factions among them differed. Then woe unto those who do wrong from the doom of a painful day. 65 Are they looking for anything except the Hour (to overtake them). It will come upon them suddenly when they are unaware! 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
