۞ And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. 57 And they say: are our gods better, or is he? They mention him not to thee save for disputation. Aye! they are a people contentious. 58 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the earth. 60 Verily he (i.e., Jesus) is a portent of the Hour. So be in no doubt concerning it and follow Me. This is the Straight Way. 61 And let not Satan turn you aside. Lo! he is an open enemy for you. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 For God, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship Him: that is a straight path." 64 But factions from among those [who came after Jesus] began to hold divergent views: woe, then, unto those who are bent on evildoing - [woe] for the suffering [that will befall them] on a grievous Day! 65 Do they wait for aught but the hour, that it should come! upon them all of a sudden while they do not perceive? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
