۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 "Are our gods any better than Jesus (for according to Muhammad), if our gods go to hell so too will Jesus. What they say is only a false argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people. 58 He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 And if We please, We could make among you angels to be successors in the land. 60 And indeed Eisa is a sign* of the Last Day, therefore do not ever doubt in the Last Day, and obey Me**; this is the Straight Path. (* The advent of Prophet Eisa to earth for the second time. ** By obeying the Noble Messenger.) 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 When Jesus came with the signs, he said: "I have come to you with authority, and to explain some thing about which you are at variance. So fear God, and follow me. 63 "Verily, God is my Sustainer as well as your Sustainer; so worship [none but] Him: this [alone] is a straight way!" 64 But parties from among them differed, so woe to those who were unjust because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 What are they waiting for except the Last Day, that it may suddenly come upon them while they are unaware? 66 On that Day even bosom friends shall become enemies to one another, all except the God-fearing. 67
