۞ When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)! 57 And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. 58 He was naught but a servant on whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the children of Israel. 59 And if We willed, We could have established angels on the earth instead of you. 60 (Muhammad), tell them, "Jesus is a sign of the Hour of Doom. Have no doubt about it and follow me; this is the straight path. 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs and said: “I have brought wisdom to you that I may make plain to you some of the things you differ about. So fear Allah and follow me. 63 Surely Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore serve Him; this is the right path: 64 But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong (by ascribing things to 'Iesa (Jesus) that are not true) from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 Friends on that day shall be foes to one another, but the god-fearing. 67
