And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers [back], if what you say is true. 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
