And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
