And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
