Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 (when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
