So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
