Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
