So We saved the children of Israel from degrading suffering 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And We gave them of the communications wherein was clear blessing. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
