And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
