We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Yet these say: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 (when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
