Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
