We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
