And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
