And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 These men do say, 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 (when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
