Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
