and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Even then they say: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
