We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And We exalted them over the other people knowingly, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
