We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Even then they say: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
