And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And We gave them of the communications wherein was clear blessing. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
