And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 save those upon whom God will have bestowed His grace and mercy: for, verily, He alone is almighty, a dispenser of grace. 42
