Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
