Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 and indeed, We chose them knowingly above all other people, 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
