Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
