We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
