We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
