And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 Yet these say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
