Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
