Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 And We gave them of the communications wherein was clear blessing. 33 Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
