Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha. Mim. 1 The sending down of the Book is from Allah, the Most Honourable, the Wise. 2 There are signs in the heavens and the earth for those who believe: 3 in your own creation and all the creatures He has spread about, there are signs for people of sure faith; 4 And in the succession of night and day, and in the means of subsistence which God sends down from the skies, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the change of the winds: [in all this] there are messages for people who use their reason. 5 Such are the verses of Allah. We recite them to you in truth. So in what speech, after Allah and His signs, will they believe? 6 Woe to every sinful liar 7 who hears the signs of God being recited to him, then perseveres in waxing proud, as if he has not heard them; so give him the good tidings of a painful chastisement. 8 And when he knows anything of Our signs, he takes them in mockery; those for them awaits a humbling chastisement. 9 Hell is after them; and what they have earned will not benefit them at all, nor those whom they have chosen as supporters besides Allah; and for them is a terrible punishment. 10 [To pay heed to God's signs and messages:] this is [the meaning of] guidance; on the other hand, for those who are bent on denying the truth of their Sustainer's messages there is grievous suffering in store as an outcome of [their] vileness. 11
