۞ God has made the sea subservient to you so that ships sail on by His command and you seek His favors. Perhaps you will be grateful. 12 And has subjected for you all whatever is in the heavens and in the earth, by His command; indeed in this are signs for people who ponder. 13 Tell the believers to ignore those who do not believe in the coming of the days of God. He will requite people for what they have done. 14 Whoso doeth right, it is for his soul, and whoso doeth wrong, it is against it. And afterward unto your Lord ye will be brought back. 15 Indeed, We gave the Children of Israel the Book, the Judgment, and the Prophethood, and We provided them with good things, and We preferred them above all beings. 16 And We vouchsafed unto them evidences of the affair. And they differed not except after the knowledge had come unto them, through spite among themselves. Verily thy Lord will decide between them on the Day of Judgment concerning that wherein they have been differing. 17 Then We have put you (O Muhammad SAW) on a plain way of (Our) commandment [like the one which We commanded Our Messengers before you (i.e. legal ways and laws of the Islamic Monotheism)]. So follow you that (Islamic Monotheism and its laws), and follow not the desires of those who know not. [Tafsir At-Tabari Vol. 25, Page 146]. 18 Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allah (if He wants to punish you). Verily, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) are Auliya' (protectors, helpers, etc.) to one another, but Allah is the Wali (Helper, Protector, etc.) of the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 19 This [Book] brings enlightenment and guidance to mankind, and is a blessing for those who have firm faith. 20 Do those who commit evil deeds imagine that We shall deal with them in the same way as We deal with those who have attained to faith and do righteous deeds, that they will be alike in their living and their dying? How badly they judge! 21
