Muhammad (Muhammad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Those who disbelieve and turn (men) from the way of Allah, He rendereth their actions vain. 1 But those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what is sent down to Muhammad -- and it is the truth from their Lord -- He will acquit them of their evil deeds, and dispose their minds aright. 2 This is because the disbelievers followed falsehood and the believers followed the Truth which is from their Lord; this is how Allah illustrates the examples of people to them. 3 When you meet the unbelievers (in battle), smite their necks until you have crushed them, then bind your captives firmly; thereafter (you are entitled to) set them free, either by an act of grace, or against ransom, until the war ends. That is for you to do. If Allah had so willed, He would have Himself exacted retribution from them. (But He did not do so) that He may test some of you by means of others. As for those who are slain in the way of Allah, He shall never let their works go to waste. 4 Anon He shall guide them, and shall make good their state. 5 He will admit them into the Garden He has already made known to them. 6 O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet. 7 but as for those who are bent on denying the truth, ill fortune awaits them, since He will let all their [good] deeds go to waste: 8 That is because they disliked what Allah revealed, so He rendered worthless their deeds. 9 ۞ So did they not travel in the land to see what sort of fate befell those who preceded them? Allah poured ruin upon them; and for the disbelievers are several like it. 10 That is because Allah is the Protector of those who believe, and because the unbelievers shall have no protector for them. 11
