Or do those in whose hearts is a disease think that Allah will not bring forth their spite? 29 And if We would, We could show them unto thee (Muhammad) so that thou shouldst know them surely by their marks. And thou shalt know them by the burden of their talk. And Allah knoweth your deeds. 30 and most certainly We shall try you all, so that We might mark out those of you who strive hard [in Our cause] and are patient in adversity: for We shall put to a test [the truth of] all your assertions. 31 Surely those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah's way and oppose the Apostle after that guidance has become clear to them cannot harm Allah in any way, and He will make null their deeds. 32 Believers, obey God and the Messenger and do not invalidate your deeds. 33 ۞ Verily Allah shall not forgive those who disbelieved and barred others from Allah's Way and clung to their unbelief until their death. 34 So do not lose heart or appeal for peace when you have gained the upper hand. God is with you and will never let your works go to waste. 35 The life of this world is but play and an amusement. If you believe and are cautious, He will give you your wage, and will not ask for your possessions. 36 If He were to ask you of it, and press you, you would covetously withhold, and He will bring out all your (secret) ill-wills. 37 There you are! You are called upon to spend in the Way of Allah. Some of you are mean; yet whoever is mean is mean only to his own soul. Allah is the Rich and you are the poor. If you turn away, He will replace you with another nation, and they will not be like you. 38
