Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Indeed, We have given you, [O Muhammad], a clear conquest 1 So that Allah may forgive, for your sake, the sins of those before you and those after you, and complete His favours upon you, and to show you the Straight Path. 2 and so that God might bestow on you His mighty help. 3 It is He who sent down the sense of security into the hearts of believers so that their faith may increase with belief, -- God's are the armies of the heavens and the earth; and God is all-knowing and all-wise; -- 4 and so that He might admit the believers, men and women, into Gardens through which rivers flow, to dwell therein forever, and so that He may remove their evils from them, that is, indeed, a supreme triumph in God's eyes, 5 And that He may punish the Hypocrites, men and women, and the Polytheists men and women, who imagine an evil opinion of Allah. On them is a round of Evil: the Wrath of Allah is on them: He has cursed them and got Hell ready for them: and evil is it for a destination. 6 To God belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth; God is All-mighty, All-wise. 7 Verily, We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) as a witness, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner. 8 That ye may believe in Allah and His apostle, and may assist Him and honour Him, and may hallow Him at dawn and evening. 9 Those who swear allegiance to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do indeed in fact swear allegiance to Allah; Allah's Hand* of Power is above their hands; so whoever breaches his oath, has breached his own greater promise; and whoever fulfils the covenant he has with Allah – so very soon Allah will bestow upon him a great reward. (Used as a metaphor.) 10
