Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We have indeed, for your sake (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), bestowed a clear victory. 1 That God may save you from earlier and subsequent blames, and complete His favours on you, and guide you on the straight path, 2 and that Allah helps you with a mighty help. 3 It is He Who sent down tranquillity into the hearts of the Believers, that they may add faith to their faith;- for to Allah belong the Forces of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom;- 4 And that He may admit men and women who believe into gardens with rivers running by, to live for ever there, and absolve their evil, -- This, in the sight of God, will be the great fulfilment -- 5 And that He may punish men and women (who are) hypocrites, and idolaters and idolatresses who entertain evil notions of God: It is against them that the wheel of misfortune will turn, and God will be wroth with them, and condemn them. For them He has prepared Hell, an evil destination! 6 And to Allah belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Ever All-Knower, All-Wise. 7 (O Prophet), We have sent you forth as a witness, as a bearer of good news, and as a warner 8 so that you (people) may believe in God and His Messenger, help, and respect God and glorify Him in the morning and the evening. 9 Those who swear allegiance to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do indeed in fact swear allegiance to Allah; Allah's Hand* of Power is above their hands; so whoever breaches his oath, has breached his own greater promise; and whoever fulfils the covenant he has with Allah – so very soon Allah will bestow upon him a great reward. (Used as a metaphor.) 10
