The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ O YOU WHO believe, do not forestall the judgements of God and His Apostle, and have fear of God. Verily God hears all and knows everything. 1 Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, and do not speak as loudly when speaking to him as you do when speaking to one another, lest your actions come to nothing without your realizing it. 2 Those that lower their voices in the presence of Allah's Messenger,- their hearts has Allah tested for piety: for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 3 Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers - most of them do not use reason. 4 If they had waited for you to come out it would have been better for them. But God is forgiving and kind. 5 O you who believe, if a dissolute person brings some news, verify it first lest you attack a people ignorantly and later regret what you had done. 6 And know that among you is Allah's Apostle; should he obey you in many a matter, you would surely fall into distress, but Allah has endeared the faith to you and has made it seemly in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you unbelief and transgression and disobedience; these it is that are the followers of a right way. 7 through God's bounty and favour; and God is all-knowing, truly wise. 8 If two groups of believers come to fight one another, promote peace between them. Then if one of them turns aggressive against the other, fight against the aggressive party till it returns to God's authority. If it does so, make peace among them equitably and be impartial. Verily God loves those who are just. 9 Surely all believers are brothers. So make peace between your brothers, and fear God, so that mercy may be shown to you. 10
