The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Believers, do not advance before Allah and His Messenger, and fear Allah. Verily Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 1 Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak loudly to him as you do to one another lest your works should be annulled without your knowledge. 2 Those who lower their voice in the presence of the Messenger of Allah are those whose hearts Allah has tested for warding off (evil). They shall receive forgiveness and a great wage. 3 Many of those who call you from outside the apartments are not considerate. 4 If they waited patiently until you came out to see them, it would be better for them. But God is forgiving and merciful. 5 Believers, if an evil-doer brings you news, ascertain the correctness of the report fully, lest you unwittingly harm others, and then regret what you have done, 6 Know that the Messenger of God is with you. Had he yielded to you on many of the matters, you would have been in great trouble. But God has endeared the faith to you and has made it attractive to your hearts. He has made disbelief, evil deeds and disobedience hateful to you. Such people will have the right guidance 7 A Grace and Favour from Allah; and Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom. 8 If two parties of the believers happen to fight, make peace between them. But then, if one of them transgresses against the other, fight the one that transgresses until it reverts to Allah's command. And if it does revert, make peace between them with justice, and be equitable for Allah loves the equitable. 9 Surely all believers are brothers. So make peace between your brothers, and fear God, so that mercy may be shown to you. 10
