Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Qaf. [These letters (Qaf, etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Glorious Quran. 1 Indeed, they are astonished that a warner should have come to them from among themselves. So these deniers of the truth say, "This is indeed a strange thing, 2 "When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be resurrected?) That is a far return." 3 We know that which the earth takes of them (their dead bodies), and with Us is a Book preserved (i.e. the Book of Decrees). 4 In fact they denied the Truth when it came to them, so they are now in a dilemma. 5 Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps? 6 And the earth -- We stretched it forth, and cast on it firm mountains, and We caused to grow therein of every joyous kind 7 A perception and an understanding, for every bondman who inclines. 8 And We send down from the sky blessed water whereby We give growth unto gardens and the grain of crops, 9 And tall date-palms laden with clusters ranged. 10 as sustenance apportioned to men; and by [all] this We bring dead land to life: [and] even so will be [man's] coming-forth from death. 11 The folk of Noah denied (the truth) before them, and (so did) the dwellers at Ar-Rass and (the tribe of) Thamud, 12 And the A-ad, and Fir'awn, and the brethren of Lut. 13 And the dwellers in the wood, and the people of Tubba; each one belied the apostles, wherefore fulfilled was My judgement. 14 Were We exhausted by the act of the first creation? And yet they are confused about a new creation. 15
