Q (Qaaf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Qaaf. By the Glorious Koran! 1 Nay, but they marvel that a warner of their own hath come unto them; and the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing: 2 What! when we are dead and have become dust? That is afar (from probable) return. 3 Well do We know how the earth consumes their bodies, for with Us is a record unfailing. 4 Aye! they belie the truth when it cometh unto them; wherefore they are in an affair confused. 5 Have they not observed the sky above them and marked how We have built it and adorned it, leaving no flaws in it; 6 We stretched the earth and placed upon it firm stabilisers and We made every kind of splendid thing to grow upon it 7 A vision and a reminder for every penitent slave. 8 We sent down blessed water from the sky with which We caused gardens and the grains of harvest to grow, 9 and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates, 10 As sustenance for the bondmen; and with it We revived a dead city; this is how you will be raised. 11 (Others) before them rejected (prophets): the people of Nuh and the dwellers of Ar-Rass and Samood, 12 As did the people of 'Ad and Pharaoh and the brethren of Lot, 13 And the Dwellers of the Woods, and the people of Tubb’a; each one of them denied the Noble Messengers, so My promised punishment proved true. 14 Could We, then, be [thought of as being] worn out by the first creation? Nay - but some people are [still] lost in doubt about [the possibility of] a new creation! 15
